Waynesville SEO Services for Home Service Contractors & Construction Pros
Homeowners in Waynesville, Clyde, Maggie Valley and every pocket of Haywood County are searching right now for an HVAC company, a plumber, an electrician, a roofer or a builder.
The Market
Haywood County Is Closer to Asheville Than It Looks
Thirty minutes on I-40 changes who you compete with, and most contractors here have not accounted for it.
Asheville firms treat you as an extension
Agencies half an hour east claim Haywood County and never learn it. You get the Asheville plan at Asheville pricing, aimed at competitors who are not the ones actually taking your calls.
Maggie Valley is a different customer
Vacation property and short-term rentals behave nothing like owner-occupied Waynesville. Different urgency, different budgets, and often an owner making the decision from out of state.
Canton is rebuilding, and that is real demand
The mill closing reshaped that end of the county. Property changing hands means inspections, renovations and trades work, and very little content has been written for the people navigating it.
Gateway traffic that turns into property
The Smokies and the Blue Ridge Parkway bring people through constantly. Some of them buy here, and they hire the way out-of-town owners always do: by searching and reading, not by asking a neighbour.
One profile covering a spread-out county
Waynesville, Clyde, Canton, Lake Junaluska, Maggie Valley. That is a wide radius for a single Google listing, and the service-area settings decide how much of it you actually appear in.
What We Do
What's Included in Gridwork's Waynesville SEO Services
One system, not a menu of tactics. Every piece feeds the others, which is why it compounds instead of plateauing.
Google Business Profile
Your listing has to carry the whole county, not just the county seat. Categories, services, an honest radius out to Maggie Valley and Canton, and posts kept current rather than set up once.
Service area pages
Separate pages for Waynesville, Clyde, Canton, Maggie Valley and Lake Junaluska, because a vacation-rental owner in Maggie Valley and a homeowner in Clyde are not running the same search.
Content that answers the pre-call question
What work costs in Haywood County, what an older mountain property needs first, how an out-of-state owner should vet a contractor remotely. The reading that happens before the call.
AI search visibility
Ask an AI tool who to call in Waynesville and it returns a short list, usually weighted toward whoever Asheville coverage has already made visible. Getting on that list locally is its own work.
A site that converts on a phone
Fast, click-to-call and explicit about the service area, because a good share of these enquiries come from somebody on a phone in a valley with poor signal.
Reviews and reporting
A review system that runs without you remembering it, plus a monthly report tying searches to calls. The local links worth having are Haywood County organisations, not national directories.
The Gridwork Momentum System starts at $2,000 per month, no long-term contract. You stay because it works.

Founder / Strategist
Meet John Ragon: Your Waynesville SEO Specialist
I run Gridwork Marketing from Western North Carolina, doing SEO and content exclusively for home service contractors. Haywood County is close enough that meeting in person is a normal request.
I never take more than 10 clients at a time. The person who audits your site is the person who writes your content and answers your email. There is no junior behind me and no AI tool running unsupervised on your account.
Why Gridwork?
Why Contractors Choose Gridwork
Haywood County is not an Asheville suburb
It has its own competitors, its own seasonality and its own towns that search differently. It gets planned as its own market here rather than as spillover from the metro next door.
Built for contractors only
No dentists, no e-commerce, no restaurants. Every hour of experience here is in home services, which means no learning curve on your dime.
You own everything
The site, the content, the profile. If you ever leave, you take it with you.

John took the pressure off working on our website’s SEO ourselves. He provided tons of data and research on how to help our site work better and reach where we want to reach.

FAQ
Answers to your most pressing questions:
Should I just hire an Asheville agency?
You can, and plenty of contractors here do. The question worth asking is whether they will build separate pages for Maggie Valley and Canton or fold Haywood County into an Asheville strategy. The second is cheaper for them and worse for you.
Is Maggie Valley worth a separate page?
If you take work there, yes. It is a vacation-rental market with different jobs, different urgency and often an out-of-state decision maker. A Waynesville page will not rank there and would not convert if it did.
Has the Canton mill closure changed the market?
It changed who owns property and how much of it turns over, which for the trades means inspection, renovation and repair demand. Very little useful content has been written for the people going through that, which is an opening.
I already show up when I search my own business name.
That only proves Google can identify you. It says nothing about whether you appear when a homeowner searches the service without knowing your name, which is where the new work comes from.
What does it cost?
The Gridwork Momentum System starts at $2,000 per month with no long-term contract and no setup fees.
How long before I see something?
Google Business Profile work can move within weeks. Organic rankings take 60 to 90 days for meaningful movement and around six months to reach full strength.
