Homeowners spend months researching a remodel before they call anyone. If you're not in that research, you're not on the shortlist.

Neither of those is a contractor in this trade. We will not dress one up — what carries over is the method, not the keyword set.

Most people never scroll past them. Which three is not luck, and it is not the biggest company — it is whoever has done this work.
The Remodeling Problem
Nobody wakes up and books a $60,000 kitchen remodel that afternoon. They spend three to nine months looking at photos, reading about costs, second-guessing the budget, and quietly building a shortlist of companies they'd let into their house.
That long runway is the whole opportunity. Every one of those months is a search, and almost none of them are for "remodeling contractor near me." They're for "how much does a kitchen remodel cost," "should I move plumbing in a bathroom remodel," "permit for basement finishing." Questions.
Most remodelers only compete for the last search, the one with buying intent. By then the homeowner already has three names, and those names came from whoever answered the earlier questions well.
What Homeowners Search
Remodeling searches split into three groups, and they're worth very different amounts:
A remodeler who answers the first two owns the relationship before the third search ever happens.

What the Work Looks Like
Remodeling isn't an emergency trade. Nobody needs a bathroom renovation at 2am. That changes what good SEO looks like here.
Volume matters less than fit. Twenty inquiries for jobs outside your scope are worse than three for the work you actually want, because each one costs you an estimate visit. So the content targets project types and budgets you want, and screens out the ones you don't, the same logic as the revenue question on this form.
Photography carries more weight in this trade than any other, so project galleries get built as indexable pages rather than a lightbox gallery Google can't read.

Where This Fits
The phases below are the same for every contractor. What changes for remodelers is the emphasis: heavier content investment in the research phase, and project galleries built to rank.
Is this you?
A kitchen is thought about long before it is quoted. Whoever shows up during that thinking is on the shortlist.
The projects that would sell the next five are in a phone camera roll, not on a page Google can read.
Not every lead is worth a site visit. The right ones already know your range before they call.
Someone hiring a designer and a builder separately types something else entirely. Both paths should end at you.
