John spent nearly two decades leading the marketing team at Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters, a Gospel-driven high adventure camp and ministry in the mountains of Western North Carolina. That work sharpened his instinct for content strategy, written communication, and building digital presence for organizations that had been around for years but weren’t getting found for any of it.
He launched Gridwork Marketing in 2025 after years of freelance work with contractors, builders, and landscapers on the side. The pattern he kept seeing, great businesses, great reputations, marketing that wasn’t working, became the entire focus. Gridwork is built to solve that one specific problem for home service contractors.
John studied marketing at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee, where he earned his BSBA. He and his wife, Brittany, live in the mountains of Western North Carolina with their seven kids.

Outside the Office
The mountains are the reason, not the backdrop.
John and Brittany are raising seven kids in Western North Carolina. Weekends are usually a trailhead, a waterfall, or a gravel bike and a long climb. The same mountains the contractors he works for are building in.
